80th Birthday Cake

This cake was for an 80th birthday party. It was a chocolate cake with green buttercream frosting.I loved doing this cake,it helped me experiment with new things like making and coloring fondant. When I tried coloring it red it made it very unstable.I tried to make a bow out of fondant.
This is the recipe I used:
1 bag (16oz) mini
marshmallows
1 two pound bag of powdered sugar
4-8 tablespoons water

M
elt marshmallows in the microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes.
Each 30 seconds you must check on the marshmallows and stir.
Add the melted marshmallows to the powdered sugar.
Mix by hand or mixer. Mix until batter looks crumbly. When this happens, add about 2 tablespoons of water at a time. When your batter looks like a paste you should knead it with Crisco coated hands. By now your batter should look smooth, and you should be able to use it .

When I added color it seemed to make the batter weak. So what I would do the next time I experimented with color- I would use more powdered sugar or just find a different fondant recipe that would interact better with colors.

I used the Cake Central website to get my inspiration on my bow.
